 Fair Trade barramundi

The barramundi or Asian sea bass is from South East Asia. The origin of the word barramundi is from an Aboriginal language of Australia. It means “large-scaled river fish.” Barramundi producer Australis Aquaculture is the world’s first Fair Trade Certified barramundi producer. They are committing 100 percent of their barramundi sales to community development initiatives in Vietnam. One of the most impactful decisions we can make for our oceans as well as the fishers who rely on them and their local communities is to purchase Fair Trade seafood and incorporate it into your cooking.

A purchase of one of these ornaments supports artisans, their families and communities, and provide employment in a safe and healthy work environment.

No one knows a community better than its residents. That’s why, under Fair Trade, farmers, workers, and fishermen vote democratically to determine how to invest their Community Development Funds to meet their unique needs. The vegetable farmers of Wholesum Harvest in Sonora, Mexico created a
